Thursday, September 6/2012

It comes as no surprise this morning that the weather is once again, shitty.  The sun is not to be seen and there looks to be another rainy day today.  Again, it is chilly in the bus this morning and the little electric heater is now plugged in and sending warn air out into the bus.
With the coffee on, I look outside and see that George is out there already working on the fence.  He is busy cementing them in and I wonder just how long he will be able to work today with the rain threatening to shut him down.
Even Hogan doesn't seem concerned enough to go and investigate the goings on.  It truly is getting too chilly for him. Last night, while we were sitting in the man cave, he was in the big arm chair all curled up inside a sleeping bag!!  We took a few pics of him so they will be posted to this blog as soon as John gets his arse into gear and does it!!
John and I headed into Spiritwood with Old Blue to pick up the 26 treated fence posts for the rest of the fence.  We also took in the cans to Sarcan and managed to get $100.00 for them.  Now that can go directly towards the fence posts.  Thanks to all who contributed to the can bag!!  So far this year, the cans have purchased 2 electric drills, an air compressor and today's fence posts!!  Not bad for recycling cans eh?
With the fence posts loaded onto Old Blue, we head back to Leoville and once there find Leon busy working on the rest of the post holes.  He had informed us that the one side of the fence has to be 3 feet away from the power line so that cuts off about 5 feet of our property!!  That sucks so I phoned Sask Power and was informed that this information was correct.  Oh well, the yard has to be fenced so this just means that our neighbour Romeo gets to keep his driveway!!  He will continue to park on our 5 feet of property!!
With the fence line now all marked, Leon finished off the holes and George and Jordan started cementing the poles into the ground.  Because it was getting late, they cemented the corner posts in so that they could harden overnight and be used as the stabilizers for the remainder of the posts tomorrow.
George would string a line from corner to corner to make sure the fence line would be straight.
I am so glad that John decided to have George put the posts in as I never realized just how much work it was and I am sure that had John and I been doing this ourselves,  it would have taken us 3 years to complete!!
Supper soon followed and then we spent the evening relaxing in front of the TV.  Hogan was curled up in his chair enjoying a relaxing evening as well
