Well, the damn wind blew all night and the trailer was rocking and rolling at Mother Nature's whim!!  There was a skiff of snow on the ground as well and the temperature was supposed to be falling.  We hoped that we would not have to battle the wind all day today but I guess time would tell.
We got the trailer into "travel mode and headed down the highway.
Today, we would be crossing the border into the United States of America!!  Woo Hoo!!   The land of cheap food and even cheaper beer!!
We arrived at the border and the miserable wind was still rather nasty.  We pulled in under the canopy and that helped a bit but one couldn't help but feel a bit bad for the poor border guard that had to stand out in it.
He asked a few basic questions then checked the inside of the trailer out.  Thank heavens I had swept the floor!!  He asked if the dogs papers were up to date and scanned our passports.  We were out of there in about five minutes headed south towards warmer weather.
Warm weather would prove to be rather elusive!!
Our first stop of course is always Malta, Montana where we fill up on gas and propane.  We also stopped at the local grocery store to pick up a few things and a case of beer!!  Oh how I have missed the prices of America!!
The wind was still blowing and it stayed with us for the whole day.  We travelled to Lewiston, Montana where we stayed at a fishing access called Carter Ponds.  It is situated about 8 miles north of Lewiston and is actually two ponds that offer local fishermen a chance at trout fishing.   There were a few picnic tables around and an outhouse but the area was generally overgrown and rather rustic but everyone who knows John and I knows, this spot was pretty ideal for the likes of us.
We quickly got set up and it was an inside meal again tonight as there was no way that John wanted to BBQ in the wind and I certainly could not blame him.
As on previous years, out came the Yahtzee game and John proceeded to kick my ass!!  Gosh, if only once I could beat him!!  I swear he has loaded dice!!
Booko of course had to check out the new digs and I always worry that at some point he will meet a skunk or a porcupine.  He isn't very brave but he is nosy!!  He didn't stay out too long as he was not impressed with the wind either!!
Life is Good!!
