Happy Independence Day to all our American friends and "family".  I imagine the fireworks will be lighting up the skies tonight all over the United States.
It is a bit dreary out this morning and it looks like rain in once again in the forecast.  So much for the sunshine for the rest of the week!!
It is a good day to coffee and relax.  Of course there is just so much relaxing one can do and John is not in the mood to just sit around.  Being rainy out, we decide to take a drive down the North Grid Road to see what we can see.  We really have no real destination so we drive.....
We end up at a small lake off the Big River Grid called Utah Lake.  It is a lake that is full of jack fish and Dave has fished this lake a few times and although he says the jack are not that big, it is a good lake to fish.  There is a neat little camp spot at the lake and would be great place to stay for a weekend.
We continued on and went to check out the spot Dave and Shirley took us to where they reek havoc on the beaver and his damn.  Today, the water is not an issue and perhaps the beaver got tired of always having to rebuild his damn and finally left.
On our way to the damn however, we encountered yet another beaver and his shenanigans.  He has built a damn close to the road and now the water is trickling down the road.  No good can come of this nonsense!!
There was also a downed tree on the trail (thanks to Mr. Beaver) that we had to cross.  I think he is having a blast in this area!!
We took a quick trip to Buck Lake as well today and stopped to enjoy the scenery when we were caught in a bit of a down pour.  Although the rain sucks, the rain is necessary for the forest and I must say that the danger of forest fire in greatly reduced around here.  Although it can always occur, at least it is not nearly as dry as it was this spring.
We headed back home and I prepared supper and got ready for work.  This is the last shift I have booked for 10 days.  It will be nice to be able to do other things beside work!!
