Taking the old fence down

Getting rid of the trees

Cleaning out the brush

Winching out the posts

Fire and dinner

Look who showed up
The sun is shining this morning and it is supposed to be hot today.  I think Kay said it is to get in tot he 80s this weekend so that will be wonderful.  I can't help thinking about Kimmy when the temperatures get like this since she loves to be out in the sun.
John and Ray are supposed to be trimming up some trees in the yard today.  They have gotten rather unruly and need to be trimmed or better yet, gone all together.  They obstruct my view of the desert creatures in the empty acres on the other side of our fence.
Well, the tree is gone and all the unkempt grass has been raked up and piled beside the dismantled tree.  It can "season" over the summer and we can burn it next December, when we return.  The old fencing has been removed - not that one should even have called it a fence and now we have an open area with direct access to the empty acres beyond.  Of course this will allow the javelina free reign of the yard and that is not a good thing since they are rather destructive little creatures with all the foraging for food that they do.  We will be getting a new fence hopefully next week.  In the meantime, I am sure Hogan can keep them at bay!!
With today's work project done and the ribs marinating in lemon juice and greek spices, we relaxed in the yard, enjoying the sun and the much improved view.  Man what a difference it has made with that hateful mesquite tree gone.  Of course, none of us survived the demolition unscathed.  That mesquite tree scratched, scraped and drew blood from all four of us!!
Eventually, supper was put on the grill and we enjoyed the fruits of our labour.  There was even enough left overs for each of us to have more tomorrow.  Of course, I was the first one to hit the sheets and the other losers followed sometime later.  We are planning on doing a quad ride tomorrow but I am not sure which way we are headed.  It is supposed to be hot our again so that will be great.
