our spot for the night with the Antelope

There is beautiful sunshine in the forest this morning.  Time to get up and get the bus ready to roll.  We are heading into Flagstaff and beyond today.  Time to keep heading North, making our way home.  I see that it is still below zero at night so, we are taking our time getting there and hopefully, by the time we arrive, it at least stays above zero throughout the night.
We got into Flagstaff hoping to buy some new batteries for the solar panels and were told they did not have  any to sell us!!  Well, fine then.  Maybe we can make these one last till next October.
We are currently camped along the Cottonwood Canyon Road.  It is a sandy trail that extends for many miles through the back country of the state of Utah.  As soon as we decided on a campsite, there was a herd of antelope grazing on the rather limited greenery.  I hope the pic turns out so we can post is on the blog.  It is funny, last night we were camping in the forest and tonight it is in the Utah "desert" with not a tree in sight.  Such a vast change in the landscape.
It is windy here but the wind is warm.  There has to be something said about having a cold beer in the middle of "no where" Utah!!  The landscape is incredible.   While Hogan was checking the area out,  a truck and stock trailer came by.  The truck stopped and out came the self proclaimed "oldest cowboy" in the state.  He looked to be in his 70s and took some time to tell us about the area.  He looked through our binoculars to see if he could see some of his cattle.  He is on a mission to heard 300 head of cattle to their summer pasture.  He had his horse and his Honda quad in the stock trailer!!  His sons were meeting him tomorrow and he said it would take them about 3 weeks to round up the heard.  Amazing!!
We were treated to a different sort of sunset and hopefully I was able to catch the sun behind the clouds in a decent enough pic to post.
Being that the NHL playoffs are on,  we felt compelled to watch once the dish was re-calibrated AGAIN!!   Now what the heck is with that!!
I am thinking something easy for supper - spaghetti sound good to me!!
