I think she's giving me the finger!

Northern Utah, Great scenery!

Man that water's cold!
Once again, there is sunshine steaming though the windows of the motor home.  There is absolutely no wind this morning and all is quiet in this part of Utah.  Hogan is currently out doing the perimeter check and since John had stowed the dish last night because of the wind, I am now in the process of putting it back up so that I can do the email/facebook/blog thing.
My niece Erin is looking for a couple of the toys from the movie "Cars" and is unable to find them in Saskatoon.  I emailed her yesterday and asked for some details and I would look for them down here.  She did and now I am looking for the red semi tuck and the car called "king".  Amazon.com is a wonderful on-line shopping tool and in a few clicks of these computer keys ...... well, there they are!!  Her problem is solved and John and I will simply get them shipped to a UPS store in a town we are going to be travelling through.  I am such a good auntie!!
Hogan and I went for a little hike this morning and I was amazed that here in this desert, with it's varying hues of green and brown, that God decided to decorate - with color.  As you can see by the pics, there are flowers in all sorts of colors.  The red really sets itself apart!!
We caught a glimpse of the cattle drive today.  John noticed some cows being driven across the valley we were parked beside and  managed to zoom in and get a pic.  It was neat to watch and the cows seemed to just know where they needed to go.
By the time we got back to the bus, the wind had come back up and it was time to head down the road.  Once we hit the highway, it was a constant battle with the wind.  After driving 100 miles, through some amazing scenery, John decided he had had enough of the bloody wind and found a wonderful campsite beside a creek (or maybe it was a small river!!).  As you can see by the pics, it really was quite pretty.  The water was flowing rather quickly and I had some concerns about Hogan being swept away.  He seemed unafraid and actually fetched a couple of sticks and swam near the edge only managing to get caught up in the current once and then was able to reach the shore without too much difficulty. (I have another grey hair!!)  He didn't swim anymore after that!!
John thinks we have to keep recalibating the satellite dish because we are making some significant elevation changes ( yesterday 2800' today 6900' ) and today was no different. With the Stanley cup Playoffs in full swing, TV is not an option!!  Back to back games tonight and once they were done, we were able to lay in bed and listen to the sounds of the water flowing past the bus.  Now it has certainly been a long time since we experienced that little pleasure!!
