Snow in the mountains above us
It is Good Friday today and Easter is nearly upon us.  When one does not have little children around, it is easy to forget important dates such as this.
There is nothing but sunshine this morning and it was awesome waking up to the sounds of the creek beside us.  There is absolutely no wind at the moment and hopefully it remains that way all day.  We have a longer day of driving today as we stopped early yesterday.  Damn Wind!!
We continued our journey on North 89 and find it very picturesque.  It is definitely a "do again" highway.
We passed through some neat old towns with some pretty incredible architecture.  Some of the older homes with their columned front porches reminded me of something you would see in the South.
We stopped at a Walmart Supercenter and picked up a few things then continued on to our final destination for the night - Salt Creek Canyon Road.  It is situated in one of the National Forests in the Wasatch Mountain Range.  We found a wonderful little spot by the Salt Creek and set up camp.  This creek is a rather fast flowing creek as well and,  although does not seem very deep in places, it is rock strewn and the water is rushing over them at a good pace causing it to surpass the "babbling brook" sound meter!!
We had plenty of wood in the campsite and a fire was soon going in the fire pit to ward off the encroaching chill of the night.  Being up at these higher elevations (6125 feet) and encountering the increasing chill is only getting us in tune for the chilly nights that I am sure await us back home!!
Just as we had finished setting up camp, a couple of vehicles pulled in beside us and took the last campsite in this little area.  There were several children in the group and they all got busy setting up their tents.  I guess I should not complain about the chilliness in the bus when the children next door will be sleeping in tents.
I picked up a pizza at Walmart earlier so that was supper.  Then it was time for a game of Yahtzee (don't even ask who won!!) and bed.  John says there is a chance for snow tomorrow.  YEAH!!
