I am home and it feels mighty good to be done all my work shifts for another season.  It was a quiet night and that was great.  Now, I will check out what the kids are up to on Facebook, have a coffee and head to bed.  There are a few things on my "to do list" for today so I must get to sleep so that I can wake up rested and get them done.
There are probably football games on today as well so I will have to work that into my schedule too.
I am up at 1:30 and after a cup of coffee head outside to see what John is up to.  He was in the shop cleaning up again and now it is almost looking like it should.
I took the quad over and gave it a good cleaning and when I got back, John did an oil change on it and loaded it into the trailer.  It is now ready for the trip South.  He also added some power steering fluid to the jeep and tightened up the power steering box which apparently had loosened and that is why it squealed sometimes when you were turning.  It only needs to go for a bath and it too will be ready to load.
I loaded the garden refuse on "Old Blue" and we took it out to the forest to dump.  Some woodland creature can have a bit of a treat tonight as there still were a few beans and tomatoes on the vines.  When we got back into town, John stopped at the car wash and gave "Old Blue" a bath too.
Back at the yard, John hooked up to the boat and pulled it out of the garage and took the battery out of it, so it too is ready for winter.  He then backed it into the shop and tucked it in for the winter.
With the jobs done for the day, John started a fire and we sat around it keeping warm and away from the ever encroaching chill of the evening.  You can see your breath tonight.
Gary stopped by for a few drinks.  He got back from a trip to Melfort where he purchased a small metal framed trailer he hopes to make into some sort of cargo trailer so that he is able to haul bales of alfalfa out to his hunting site and hopefully haul a deer or a moose home on it!!   The last trailer he took out to the bush broke - the axle sheered off at the wheel.  Now that is a show stopper!!
The football game came on and we kept track it through the windshield as we sat around the fire.  It was soon time for John to get supper on the BBQ and and hour later, we were chowing down on our usual Saturday night dinner - steak and baked potato.
It was good and provided a great ending to a productive day.
