Saturday, March 9/2013

It rained off and on all night and this morning it remains rather dreary and overcast out.  Holy Cow, you can see your breath outside and although it did not get below freezing, it is definitely chilly.  Hopefully it gets a bit warmer out and one is able to go out and actually enjoy the day.
Kay and I have to make a run into Surprise today, stopping first at the swap meet in Whitman to see if the fellow who sets up the mini garden centre is there and to see if he remembered to bring the garlic chives this week.  Kay and I have been looking for them for a few weeks now.  They are hard to find.
We headed out and found to our delight, that the guy did indeed remember to bring them and we left with two garlic chives and one pinkish/red oleander plant.  His prices are more than reasonable and he said that he will bring some bougainvillea next week so Kay and I will just have to take another trip down there next Saturday as well.
We then headed into Surprise and made several stops - KFC for hot wings, Bed, Bath and Beyond for the magical shinking water hoses, Walmart for blinds and Safeway for twisted tea.  We were busy girls!!
On our way home, we stopped at the Pottery Place and picked up "little" Percy.  He is so cute and will look awesome standing next to "big" Percy.
When we arrived back at the park, I decided to make a pasta salad to go with the hot wings we bought from KFC,  This would make a nice snack for tonight as Kay is bound and determined to get the money she lost last night back.  John is rather butt hurt about what he lost last night as well and wants a chance to get back what he lost as well.  So.....looks like I will be playing cards again tonight.
Kay agreed to help me put the blinds that we just bought up on the windows so once I was done with making the salad, I text her and she came over.  John decided to help as well so between the three of us we got all the blinds up on all the windows.  Woo Hoo.  Another job done.
With that done, it was time to sit and enjoy the rest of the evening.
Ray, Mitch and Kay's friend Kurt were over in the garage next door getting drunk so the three of us decided to just stay in the trailer, away form all the raised voices and drunkenness.
Eventually Ray came over followed by Mitch and Kurt.  They were all well into their cups!!
We partied hardy for a while and did manage to play some cards in which case, most of us managed to keep our money so there were no real winners tonight.
Eventually, Ray and Mitch headed home leaving only Kurt with us.  I brought out the food as I was getting rather hungry and it wasn't too long after that that it was time to head into bed.
It was a good time tonight with everyone enjoying themselves.  I think we showed Kurt how to party in the bario!!
