Taking the back way to Mayer

A cool house we saw along the way

Old verses new.  Certainly not much left of the old belt

Getting it fixed

Some friends come to visit during happy hour
Well, today our belt is supposed to be delivered to Mayer Az.  It will be coming to Mayer Automotive Repair so our job today is to retrieve it and get it on the bus.  The retrieving part was easy as we back tracked on some of the same road we were on yesterday only today, we made a right turn at Cordes instead of a left.  It was a well travelled back road and we were in Mayer in about 30 minutes.  Of course the belt had not yet arrived so we had time to kill.  We needed milk so I went shopping at the Mayer Market then, we waited.  Eventually the Fed Ex truck showed up and we were soon on our way back to the bus.
Once back home, the hardest part about changing that belt was chipping the old melted belt out of all the cogs on the two pulleys.  Man, was that a job!!  It is a good thing that I have some very sharp paring knives in the drawer as that is what we needed to get all that stinking old belt out.  With the cogs finally clean, it took about 10 minutes to have the new belt in place and ready to go.  We will start heading towards home tomorrow.  It is supposed to rain tomorrow so that is a good day to travel.
