It is rather dreary outside again today but perhaps we will be lucky like yesterday and the sun will poke through all these nasty grey clouds and shine upon us once again.  If not, it is really no big deal as all the outside work was done yesterday.  Today I have to finish with the cleaning inside the bus and take some clothes over to the laundromat.  It will be an easy day today as far as "jobs" go.
I really must contact the kids and see what they are bringing up for the weekend as far as meals go.  Then, I may have to go grocery shopping!!
I now have the laundry done and now just have to put it away.  I think I should save that job for tomorrow!!
Arlene came over and asked us if we wanted to go for a short quad ride before the televised football game started and we agreed to go.  We got into our rain gear (it is bound to be wet on the trails) and headed out.  We stopped at the little white church as we usually do and found a fellow working on replacing the door.   Arlene and I asked him if we could go inside to check it out.  He said of course and we went on in.  The first thing I noticed was that the floor was done in paving stones.  When I commented about it the fellow (Cliff) said that the wooden floor kept sinking so they laid a bunch of sand down and then the paving stones and the floor has been great since then.  What a unique idea!!
The church was filled with all the usual "churchy" things with a few exceptions.   There was a beautiful ornate pot bellied stove at the front of the church all polished and shined up and it looked wonderful.  I imagine that it must keep the church warm during the fall and winter services that are performed there.   Cliff mentioned that the novice priests that were stationed here in the "early" days also stayed in the church.  With this statement, he showed us a rather small room (and I mean small) where they had a cot, a small cook stove and a few other amenities for them to get by with.   It is from this little church that they would travel around to the homes of the congregation for visits.
What a great little church and the accompanying cemetery and grounds are kept in wonderful shape.  Cliff really does a wonderful job.
I also found out that Cliff is the fellow that now has the house boat down on Heart Lake.  It was his Dad that allowed John and I to take it out and fish a few years ago and he has since given it to Cliff.
When Arlene and I got back to where John and Gary were with the quads, we found out the Gary's quad now had a broken u-joint and we had to return to town.  So much for the trail ride!!!
Once back at home, I took the quad over to the carwash for a much needed bath then we headed over to Gary's to watch the first exhibition game of the Saskatchewan Roughrider football team.   It will soon be the start of the regular football season and all the rookies are vying for a place on the team.  Tonight they can show off their talents.
Back from the game and the Riders got their asses kicked!!  OH NO!!!   Hopefully this is not an prelude of things to come.
It is now time for bed.  Another good day spent.
