It is dreary once again outside this morning and looks like it could rain.  I guess the folklore about the halo around the sun is right - impending rain.  Geez - enough already.  Although the sun is making a valiant attempt to peak out from behind the clouds, it looks  to be a rather formidable task.
Since my bluejeans are covered in mud, I decide to head into the garden for some much needed weeding.  I must deal with the nasty bits of vegetation in Shirley's garden around the potatoes.  As I get started, Shirley comes out with the same goal in mind so the two of us attack.  Her at one end and me at the other.  With any luck,  we will meet in the middle!!
As it turned out, we picked weeds for a few hours then decided that that was enough for today.  We will finish tomorrow (if there is no rain).
The sun did manage to shine for a while today and that was nice.
Dave has been busy all day constructing a little trailer to pull behind his quad.  He also cut the grass in the back yard and did part of the front as well.  Gee, what is with all his energy??
I have to make a quick trip to the grocery store for milk and while there, I wandered over to the garage to see if the truck was done.  It was and John then walked over to the garage to bail it out!!  We now have a way to get into Spiritwood and pick up the wood needed to finish the man cave.  Woo Hoo!!  We can now go and get some wood for the fire pit as well.  It is nice to have "Old Blue" back and in proper running order!!
Dave came over for a beer around 4:30, taking a break from his construction.  It was nice to sit and chat for a while in the sunshine!!  Arlene wandered over and eventually Gary joined us.  Dave had to go home to finish putting the hitch on his little trailer so it was just the four of us sitting around until the sun went down and the chill set in.  We moved in to the man cave and John started the campfire in a can and that took the chill out of the air.  Arlene has to return to Winnipeg tomorrow as her 3 week visit here is over.  Now doesn't time fly when you are having fun.  I am sad to see her go as she seems to have become more relaxed around us.  She is a riot on the trails with her wit and humour.  I truly will miss her.
Dave and Shirley came for a drink and to say goodbye to Arlene and the six of us sat around the little fire for another beer.  It was soon time for everyone to head home and start supper.  With hugs goodbye, we all bid Arlene farewell and ended with come back soon.
Supper was a quick fish and chips then it was TV, reading and bed!!  Good Night.
