The sun is shining this morning and the sky is blue.  It looks like the rain has run its course and hopefully we don't have to deal with anymore this weekend.
Hogan and I are up early and it is pretty quiet in the yard.  The kids are still sleeping!!
Eventually, everyone was up and fed.  Bacon, eggs, hash browns and texas toast.  I think the boys are full!!
Tori and Jace took the dogs down to Vimy for a swim then, drove part of the Huard Lake Trail to the fire tower.  The dogs had a good run!!  While there,  they noted that there was lots of good firewood waiting to be cut.
The afternoon was spent cutting and gathering a truckload of wood.  There will be a nice fire in the fancy fireplace tonight and for several nights to come!!
Dave wandered over for a little visit and I was tired so laid down for a while.  I was up a few hours later and the troops were sitting around an awesome fire.  Apparently Gary had wandered over for a few drinks but had gone home by the time I joined the festivities.
The wind (which had been blowing all day) had finally had settled nicely.
John was the first to notice the Northern Lights tonight and although they were not as bright as I have seen them in the past, they were an awesome reminder that we are home.
Steak and baked potatoes were on the menu tonight and the beauty of the barbecue is that everyone can eat when they are hungry.  And of course, the steaks were tender and juicy.
Enjoying the fire

It was an early night tonight as we had all burned the midnight oil last night partying and carrying on.  The bed felt good even though I did grab a few hours of shut eye earlier!!
