It seem like there is another dreary day in front of us today. Again, no sunshine. Of course the solar panels are struggling so our power is on the low side but we are still able to watch a bit of TV and use the internet so all is good. Eventually, we will get into the sunshine!!
Today we continued through Idaho. Once we left the mountain pass behind us we travelled a valley which offered us nothing but sagebrush. Man, we have not seen this much sagebrush since exploring the back country of Montana along the Missouri River!!
There were a few scattered houses along the way, a few smaller towns but, not one bit of wildlife!! A most inhospitable part of the state if you ask me!!
We passed by a huge facility that was the Idaho Experimental Research Facility. I am not sure what they research there but it was on several hundred acres of land and we obviously were passing by it at the end of their work day as there were probably 20 big buses leaving the facility all with what I assume were the workers. Since the Facility is basically "in the middle of no where", they must provide transportation for their workers. The buses entered the highway and took three different directions, all heading towards different towns. Several were headed in the same direction as us and that was towards Pocatello.
We arrived just outside of Pocatello, Idaho as the evening was waning. It was time to stop for the night. It had been a long day and time to call it quits. I-15 South was just ahead of us and John had no intention of travelling down that today. There is a Walmart in our near future and the interstate would take us to it!!
Tonight we stayed in an open area beside a truck stop. It was nothing fancy but it would surely do for one night.
We got set up and found out that there was some sort of issue with the internet.

Heading out this morning

More of the Salmon River

Old abandoned buildings dotted the countyside

Out of the mountains and into the sagebrush

The highway was literally cut through the rock in some areas

Snow on the mountains

We did pass by the highest peak in Idaho along this highway.
It was in excess of 12,000 feet

Class of......   This was really cool to see
All our components were working properly so John thought that the issue was on the "provider" end of this operation.  Oh well, we had TV so that was good.
All in all, it was another good day of
