Heading out of Leoville
Wednesday dawned with the anticipation of finally getting started on our journey South.  It is always a bit sad as we are leaving family and friends but it comes with the knowledge that we are also leaving the COLD of the winter season.   According to the Farmer's Almanac, it is supposed to be very cold this winter and there is supposed to be lots of snow.  So, on one hand, it is sad to be leaving but on the other it is let's "get out of Dodge"before the cold hits!!

No snow here - much closer to Saskatoon and this farmer is
still trying to get his crop off.

The weather got warmer as we got closer to Saskatoon and my toes and fingers finally started to thaw!!  Huge flocks of Canada Geese and Snow Geese were in the fields as they too are answering the age old call to head South.

Canada Geese headed South
We arrived at the farm without incident and finally got a minute to just sit and rest.  I feel like I have been on "fast forward" for a week now and it was definitely time to put your feet up and breathe!!  It was also time for a "red" beer!!  Mmmm...
Bernie has a big screen TV at the farm and it is quite a pleasure sitting watching the various sporting events on it.  Beer and sports.....can life get any better.
There is another addition to the cat population at the farm in the form of little Meggy.  She was a stray that had wandered into the yard and was adopted into the family.  She is a little cuddler but oh so tiny.  Hobo (Kimmy's cat) loves to cuddle too so I was kept busy between the two of them. Princess somehow managed to get left in one of the bedrooms when everyone headed for Vegas and it wasn't until Wednesday evening that I heard some commotion in the bedroom and opened the door to discover a bit of a calamity.  She had been in there since Monday so one can only imagine the mess!! The carpet had been scratched beyond repair at the door in her attempts to get out and there was a rather nasty aroma coming out of the room.  Hopefully all it will take is a bunch of linen to be washed to deal with the smell.  Princess was more than happy to be out of the bedroom and went to the water and food immediately.   Poor little thing!!  Mister was in a bit of a mood Wednesday evening as well and wasted no time in taking not one but two rounds out of princess.  Shit, oh dear.....I have never seen him act like that.  I will let them both outside tomorrow morning and they can both burn off some pent up energy!!

Awwww red beer
We managed to make it to all our appointments and now are completely ready to cross the border.   The medications are bought and I have dropped off the canning to Jan so she is set for the winter now.  I met Jackie and Georgie for lunch and got all the final shopping done. We will be headed out on Sunday and plan on crossing the border on Tuesday, November 1/16. Life is good!!
