Today dawned sunny and warm and Kay and I quickly headed into town for some groceries and ice. When we arrived back in camp, John had the quads unloaded and ready for today's Arch Canyon ride so,  the cooler was quickly filled with adult beverages and we headed for Arch Canyon.
Such a sweet ride and one that doesn't have any nasty spots  Nothing but shallow creek crossings and incredible scenery.
The weather was great, the sun shining and Booko was riding "shotgun" with John while Kay and I were in Henrietta.  We stopped several times along the trail for refreshments and Booko loved frolicking in the water.  He is such a goof.  I only hope he is as enthusiastic when he gets to the lakes at home!!
At one spot where we stopped, there were all kinds of flying bugs.  They were quite bothersome (like mosquitoes) so we quickly finished our beverages and got back into the quads and continued our journey through the canyon.
I pointed out the one site of ancient  Anasazi ruins to Kay and we had a good look through the binoculars at them wondering how in the heck these ancient people managed to climb the face of the rocks to live far above the canyon floor.  It really is mind boggling and, in bare feet no less!!
We stopped a few more times on the way and at one point I realized I no longer had the phone.  Holy Buckets of Beer......that can't be good!!  We had had it out taking pictures at the last refreshment break but it was now nowhere to be found!!  It was a good thing that we were the only ones on the trail today so if we lost it on the trail, then we would find it on our way out as we had to turn around at the end of the canyon and come out the same trail.   Worse case scenario would be that it had dropped into the water on one of the many creek crossing we had done.  Geez, sure hope that wasn't the case!!
Kay and I finally got to the end of the trail where John and Booko were waiting and I told him about the missing phone.   Surprisingly, he wasn't too concerned and simply said we would find it on the way back and WE DID!!  It was lying in the middle of the trail and John said the pink case was easy to spot.  Crisis Averted!!
We continued our journey out, stopping every so often for much needed refreshments!!  At one stop, John asked we we had seen Booko's training collar remote on the trail as he had somehow lost it!!  Holy Buckets........first the phone and now the remote for the dog collar!!   He had it at the last stop so obviously, it was somewhere between here and there!!   Kay and I sat and enjoyed the sights while John went back and found the darn thing.  He said is was a lying at the last refreshment stop and was glad that Kay and I had not driven over it!!   Neither her nor I had seen it when we left the last stop. We were too busy chatting and checking out the passing scenery!!
We arrived back in camp with everything we took with us and that I must say was a very good thing.  We had no cell service at camp but losing the phone would have been awful.  Losing the dog remote would have been awful too as it would have rendered his training collar useless.   We are trying to train Booko to come when he is called and most of all......leave the damn cats alone.  If he doesn't learn to do that, then, when we get to the farm he will undergo the Fuzzy Training Session and that could very easily lead to blood and veterinary bills!!
Fuzzy is the farm matriarch and takes no guff from any dog.  She is the boss of the land and she lets each and every dog that comes into her territory know it.  They either learn pretty darn fast or bleed!!
Steak and baked potatoes were on tonight's menu and once again, it was delicious.
The campfire was awesome and even the cats seemed to enjoy it.   Booko and them seem to be tolerating each other although he just wants to play and they of course......do not!!
Life is good!!
