November 1/09

We left Palisades, Idaho and headed further South We followed the Snake River for quite awhile and managed to take some awesome pictures. There were so many lovely views around every curve. The roads are good. NO ice or snow. On travel days such as these I tend to use slow cooker and today I have a wonderful pot of stew on and it smells delicious so, not only do we get to enjoy the view, we get to smell supper cooking!! It is great. One of life's little pleasures.
We crossed into Wyoming and continues south along a scenic highway and eventually travelled along side the Green River
We stopped at a shop in Marbleton, Wy. to pick up supplies(12.00 a 66) and were told about a recreation area right along the Green River. We were given directions and found it without too much difficulty. I must say that John is getting really good at turning this rig around!!
We parked for the night, got the chainsaw out, chopped some wood and started a fire. It was happy hour by the time the "work" was done so just relaxed and enjoyed the fire. We discussed what we were to do the next day. There are some back roads that need to be explored. This is Jim Bridger country. Bridger was a mountain man/ trapper/ scout and guide. He explored and trapped the Western United States from 1820 to 1840. He blazed the Bridger Trail which was an alternate route between Wyoming and the gold field in Montana that avoided the dangerous Bozeman Trail. (I think we drove over this trail!). Alot of history around this area as well.
Off to bed. Tomorrow we explore.
