Today, we are taking a "truck" road trip to see more of this incredible scenery.   We quad one day then drive the next.  Today, we are going to explore several of the trails around the area and hopefully find our way over to the town of Bouse.   It is in this area the General Patton trained many of the troops during WW11,  preparing them for the desert like conditions in Europe and, there is an awesome park in Bouse dedicated to this.
We headed out from camp and the travel was easy as the roads were wide and fairly well maintained.  There were several byways that we explored and one took us into a dead end canyon which was pretty awesome in itself with huge rock wall formations and deep sand.  It was rather cool to see.
We eventually made it to Midway which I assume got its name by being "midway" to Bouse and found  some nice camping spots.  We made it to Bouse and stopped at The Ocotillo Bar for a refreshment.  There were many memories here for Kay as she grew up in the area and went to school with the owner's kids.  She was like our own little historian on the trails!!
From here, we headed back to Parker but not before we made a detour to the floating Roadrunner Bar.  It actually is situated right on the Colorado River….and part of it "floats" on the river.  It is too cool.  We stayed for a beer and got some awesome pics of the sunset.  We even posted one of the pics to Facebook and got lots of awesome comments.
Back at camp, we sat around the campfire in a can, ate supper and headed to bed.  All in all, it was yet another good day!!     And, we didn't get lost today……Bonus!!
