We are off on another adventure and once again we have taken a wrong turn.  We are so good at that!!
Finally, back on track, we reach the trail head for the Railroad Canyon Trail.  This trail follows the railroad grade to Swansea.  It is an awesome trail that winds through the desert offering very few challenges.  It is easy and enjoyable - a novice trail that both Kay and I enjoyed and were truly thankful for!!   There was evidence of burros (lots of poop) but we did not catch a glimpse of any!!
We quickly accessed Swansea then headed out on yet another trail - Swansea Loop Trail, that would meander through more desert scenery and eventually spit us out onto a main trail that would lead us back to camp……or…..so it was supposed to!!   Yes, well, it did but we took a few detours along the way…..AGAIN!!
One of them took us through some very dense vegetation and we actually had three water crossings!!  It was like an oasis in the middle of the desert.  It was awesome and we did manage to see one wild burro and heard the rather annoyed braying of another who did not seem at all impressed that we had invaded their territory.  It was the ideal spot for a refreshment and while we were standing at the ponds edge, we were entertained by the antics of a couple of mud hens who didn't seem to mind our presence at all.
Backtracking, we eventually found the right trail and headed home.  It was getting late and before too long we were once again on a "night" ride.  This is becoming a habit!!
We were treated to another awesome sunset before we arrived back at camp.
All in all, it was another great day.
