The sun is trying to shine and who knows, maybe it will finally break through and we will see that Big Blue Montana Sky we hear so much about.
Today we continue our trek southward and were on the road once we had eaten and got "road" ready. Well, we thought we were road ready until about half an hour down the road when John said that he may have lost the drill. Apparently he set it on the propane cover and couldn't remember putting it away!! Turning around is NOT an option so I guess we will see later today when we stop for the night.
The weather got warmer as we got further south and that is always a good thing!! We travelled through miles and miles of hills and dales with lots of raviens. There were miles of fences and tons of cattle. This of course is cattle country. There could be no other use for this terrain.
We saw several deer and lots of antelope again today. The further south we got, the land levelled out and we could see farmland. There were no crops left out in the fields so it looked like harvest was a success this year.
We stopped for the night at a fishing access on the Tongue River. It was called Twelve Mile Dam and it was a pretty sweet spot. Although the river is not deep, it runs with purpose and empties into the Yellowstone River.
The weather was still pretty nice when we arrived so we set up the campfire in a can and sat around it for a while.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders were playing football tonight so we had to watch them and they won the game!!
John cooked supper while the game was on and it was awesome. BBQ'd turkey legs, baked potatoe and coleslaw!! Mmmm.....Life is Good!!
