Leaving the campsite
Today we are heading into Moab and travelling a bit further South.  We stopped to pick up some gas, dump the tanks, take on some propane and water and pick up some groceries.  Once that was done, we were once again headed South.  It would not be a long drive today as  Blanding is only about 75 miles from Moab and our campsite is only 14 miles outside of Blanding at a place called Comb Wash.
Because we took longer that expected in Moab, we were getting a bit of a late start so it is a good thing that it is a short trip.  When we went through the town of Monticello, there was a sign along side the road saying that there had been 427 collision with deer so far and encouraged motorists NOT to be #428.  There were numerous warning signs saying that deer were in abundance and we actually seen one huge herd of deer standing in a field grazing.  As we passed several more signs warning of the deer danger, John noticed one standing on the side of the road.  Well, not knowing what this stupid thing had in mind and also knowing how unpredictable they are started slowing down.  Well, this stupid thing bolted across the highway directly in front of us and I just do not know how we managed to miss it.  I swear the Good Lord must have picked the dumb thing up and eased it to the side of the road because I was sure we had hit it!!  I looked out my window and saw the thing scooting up and over the hill!!  Man....what a relief as neither John, myself nor the deer wanted to be #428!!
We managed to get to the campsite without any further excitement and settled in for a quiet evening.  Tomorrow, we are hoping to do some of Arch Canyon Trail.

Between those trees was our last camping spot
