I awoke to sunshine this morning so I am hoping that today will be a warm, sunny day for today's ride.   I will put my insulated pants on anyway cause I sure do not want to get another "chill" like yesterday.  That really sucked.
We grabbed a quick brunch and headed off again.  Today we are going to do part of the Kokopelli's Trail system.  It is a 140 mile trail that actually starts in Loma, Colorado and ends in Moab, Utah.  It is considered one of the best trails for mountain bikers but ATVers use the trail as well.  It boasts a variety of terrain including remote desert sandstone and shale canyons often overlooking and hugging the banks of the Colorado River at has elevations of 8400 feet along the way!!  It comes with all the fauna and flora of the desert and we were lucky enough to see some of the peregrine falcons that call this rugged land home.
The trail had several pot holes of water on it from the recent rains but normally, there is no water available on the trail.  Cactus, Juniper and Holly bushes dot the landscape.
We saw cottontail bunnies and many mountain bluebirds today so that was awesome.
The weather cooperated, I didn't freeze today and we managed to get back to camp in good time unscathed.  The side by side was pretty much filthy from all the water and dirt/sand we travelled through and will be in need of a good bath!!
There was football to watch again tonight and it was time for John to start cooking our meals again!!  I am getting tired of it!!
Our trail for today

Nice sunset on the way back to camp
