Kay had left early this morning and had a nine hour trip in front of her to get back to Nephi where she would once again be back to work on the road crew. Her boss had phoned her on Tuesday and asked if she was there yet so it indeed was time for her to get into gear.
With a final goodbye to Ray, we headed off, down the road.
We had not travelled too far down the road before we got a text from Kimmy saying "I can see that you are on the move"!! Yes we are little girl!!
Heading out - U.S. Hwy 73 |
Heading into the forest |
Our spot for the night |
Coconino National Forest |
Our drive was uneventful. A bit of road construction greeted us but that was it. Good weather and lots of sunshine. We arrived at our first night's camping spot off Willard Springs Road and it was as welcoming as ever. A huge grass covered meadow welcomed us and we found ourselves surrounded by the Coconino Forest. It was warm and we sat out in the chairs with an adult beverage and enjoyed the setting. Hogan ran around like a goof chasing his ball then, any bird or squirrel that came close.
I happened to glance down the road while John and I were sitting outside and saw several elk crossing it. Now, how cool is that. Hogan was rather intent on a bird at the time and didn't even notice them.
Kay text and she arrived safely back in Nephi and had already gone for her urinalysis test that is required before she can start back to work. All was well with the trailer and life was good in Nephi!!
Our evening ended in an awesome steak supper and we watched the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Then, it was time to relax and lay in bed watching TV. What a life!!
