Sunday was indeed a day or rest. I slept in and it was wonderful. The weather is cooperating and Spring is certainly in the air. I hear via Facebook that it is snowing back home so I am not too terribly impressed by that!! I am getting the urge to go home but I really do not want to be parking in a snow bank when we get there!!
Monday found Kay, Mary Beth and I in the jeep on the way to Box Canyon. It was time for us to take Hogan for another adventure. We spent a few very quiet hours there and Hogan had lots of fun chasing the ball. It was a good little "get away" for us girls.
While we were gone, John moved the truck and camper into the yard so that we could start packing it for the trip home. We will probably be leaving in the next few weeks so it is time to get into gear with that.
Lorne, Marilyn, Wayne and Teresa arrived back in Wickenburg on Tuesday and we spent an evening around the fire with them. They had a good time and saw a lot of interesting things on their little trip.
On Wednesday, we met at their motel for happy hour and then headed off for supper. Tomorrow, they are headed up to Sedona and then will continue north and home.

March 27th found John, Kay, Marybeth and Myself in the jeep and travelling along Buckhorn Wash. We were hoping to find Snoopy Rock but unfortunately, we were unable to find the back way over to Castle Wash so ended up turning aroundand retracing our steps!! Had we travelled a few more miles down the wash, we would have found the trail head!! |
With Spring finally hitting the desert, we had several opportunities to stop and take pictures of many of the emerging flowers. So many colours to see!!

The trail through the wash was full of spectacular scenery that only the desert can offer and we were blessed to see lots of signs of Spring. We even had the privilege of seeing one of the ever elusive wild burros today. He was definitely not impressed with us being in the neighbourhood!!

All in all, it was a good trip and Marybeth loved to be out with us enjoying this part of the desert.
This week also found us back out on the trails looking for a way to access Constellation Road from our driveway. John, Kay and I took off to explore the trails after I picked Ray's brain as to the lay of the land headed towards Constellation. With the information in hand, we set out and started marking trail and were soon exactly where we needed to be. Now we can head out on the trails from here in the park and never have to ride the highway again!! Much safer and wiser!!

Once we popped out onto Constellation Road, we continued down into Solomon's Wash and headed to the end of the trail. It was a dead end trail but none of us had ever followed it to the very end. Today, we did just that.

A busy week was had by all. Although we should have been packing for the trip home, it was sure nice to take a few days and enjoy the scenery. One never gets tired of looking at the desert.
