Thursday, April 23/2015

I woke up this morning and it was 27 degrees F. Now for someone who has become accustomed to the heat in the desert, this was indeed a shock to my system.
The only thing I could do was throw a blanket over the frozen dog, have a very quick bathroom break and crawl back under the covers!! Hopefully things warm up and the dog thaws out!!
I eventually got brave enough to actually greet the day a few hours later and the sun was shining and it was 20 degrees warmer so all was good, Even poor old frozen Hogan was up and moving!!
With the coffee on, I started updating the blog and now am proud to say..... it is totally up to date. Kimmy will be so happy with me!!
Today's trip was once again, uneventful and that is a very good thing. The truck is running like it should and all is good.
The weather was quite overcast today and it looked as if we were going to get into some rain however, all the rain happened before we arrived  and so all we saw was puddles in the hollows of the sandstone. We had a few drops on the windshield, but that was all. There is however, a weather alert out for southeastern Utah and that is exactly where we will be camping tonight and driving through tomorrow. Lots of rain, cold and a chance of snow in the higher elevations!! Well, let the fun begin!!
We arrived at another of our favourite camping spots nestled along side the San Juan River just in time for one adult beverage before the sun sank behind the sandstone cliffs.
With the sun down and the chill in the air, it was time to head inside, turn on the hockey game and make supper. Homemade bratwurst sausage, mashed potatoes and cream corn.  Now, what could be better!!
With the bad weather scheduled to arrive tomorrow morning and hang around for a while, John has decided not to stop in Moab for a few days of riding. Instead, if time allows, we will stop and check out some of the trails that are supposed to be around Cody,Wyoming.
All in all, another good day of travel today.

Heading out
