Headed out
Today, we will be out of Arizona and into the State of Utah.   John is headed to the Peek-a boo Trail system just outside the town of Kanab.  He did some research and thinks that it is worth checking out.
Once again the travel was uneventful and like I said before, always a good thing!!

Awesome scenery

We passed through some awesome scenery again and I marvel at how one really never gets tired of looking at it.  In some areas, it is like you are on a different planet all together with all the different rock formations and the incredible colors.

Ruins along the way

There is so much "Ancient Ones" history in this area and I love that about this part of the county.  Of course there is history in all parts of our great countries but the ancient civilizations fascinate me.  It was the ultimate "Survivor" back then and they seemed to manage quite well despite the incredible hardships they must have faced.

more ruins

Huge boulders along part of the roadway.

Welcome to Utah

Our spot for a few days

We arrived in Kanab, stopped for gas and ice and headed to the trails.   We arrived in good time and we were able to find a nice spot to park.   This was going to be our "home" for the upcoming days.   We had some trails to check out and who knows what sites we would be seeing.

It was windy here so we got the umbrellas out to use as wind breakers then settled in front of the fire for the night.  Booko hunkered into his chair with his Carharrt jacket Auntie Kay bought him and his blanket.   He was warm and happy.   The cats checked out the area and they too settled.  There were lots of juniper trees around and Sky was quick to check them out climbing up several branches and back down again.  Corinna settled under the trailer where she could enjoy the fire and not be bothered by either us or the dog!!  Her and Boolo have a Love/Hate kind of relationship!!

All in all, it was another good day and we were all happy to arrive at our destination.   It is off on the quads tomorrow as new adventures await us.   Life is good!!
