Sunday, March 11/2018 - Saturday, March 17/2018

It was cloudy and dreary on Sunday and suited our moods.  The sniffles and coughing continues and Lorne's spots remain.  We are treating him with Benadryl and a herpes anti viral.  Hopefully that helps.  Time will tell though!
Monday brought some hot weather and after the dreariness of yesterday, it was a good thing.  It was time to start getting our camper in shape for the trip home and I started doing that while Kay tackled the never ending battle of the dirty floors.  Lorne was still feeling shitty and Marilyn's sciatica came to visit so she was busy trying to find a chiropractor to help her out.
Tuesday found Kay and I at the Vet with Booko and his sore leg.  It hasn't been getting any better so it was time to take him to the Doc and see what was wrong.  He needed his 1 year checkup for his Valley Fever so it was definitely not a wasted trip.  Good news though, the Doc thought that there were no major injuries to Booko's leg and over time should heal.  He is still young so has that going for him.  Pulled muscles, ligaments and maybe even a bit of nerve damage will take time to heal.  The Doc put him on an anti inflammatory so that should help.  Good news too on the Valley Fever front.  Booko no longer needs to take his anti fungal medication.  He is good to go now unless he starts that awful coughing and hacking he was doing a year ago.  Time will tell on that front as well.
Marily found a chiropractor so she is getting treatment for her sciatica now and of course.....that too takes time to improve.
Wayne and Theresa arrived on Wednesday and it was good to see them.  They had some winter driving stories to share with us and I am sure Theresa was calling upon "The Powers" to get her to the warmer weather and safer road conditions!!   Their dog settled in nicely and was quite a character.  He was sooo busy barking at the wildlife, he forgot to run away!!   Now that was a very good thing.  He even managed to master the doggie door!!
Walter and Heather Ingram have been vacationing over at Cave Creek for about a week now and decided to come for a visit on Thursday.   They live in Fernie, B.C. and are real good friends with Lorne and Marilyn and Wayne and Theresa.  We couldn't waste a day with them so decided to head out to our favourite desert weiner roast spot.  We loaded up the trucks and headed out.   It was an awesome day and of course, the food was delicious.  Once again......there is nothing better than a hotdog roasted over an open fire.
We spent the entire day in the desert and it was quite nice.  Well, up until Walter walked into a nasty branch and managed to get a good scratch across his nose.  He had blood dripping off the end of his nose!!  Good Grief!!  The old saying of "you can dress them up but you can't take them out" came to mind!
Friday, Lorne and Marilyn and Wayne and Theresa headed over to Cave Creek to help Heather celebrate her birthday.  They were gone all day and it sound like they all had fun.  Well, not so much Wayne as he was the designated driver!!
Saturday was St. Patrick's Day and it was also the day that "Guys who Grill" is on.  That is a day at the community center where you can have "all you can eat" BBQ for $10.00 a person.  Kay and I took it in last year and Marilyn was lucky enough to win second prize in the draw - she won a lovely dinner ring.
This year, John made arrangements for the side by side to go in for repairs so we dropped it off at Copper State Cycles and then Kay and I forced John into joining us for the BBQ.   We met the crew there and visited all the booths to fill our plates and enjoyed cold beer and music for a few hours.  It was soon time for the drawing of the prizes and we all kept our fingers crossed that this year we would win the fancy, dancy Weber BBQ.   Well we didn't win the BBQ but Marilyn ONCE AGAIN won the dinner ring!!   WHAT!!  NO WAY!!  The look on her face was priceless as she realized that she was a winner again and this year, it was a lovely ruby and diamond ring and it looked awesome on her finger.  She did try to trade the ring for the BBQ but the winner of the BBQ was having no part of that deal.   He was soooo thrilled at his win that he was dancing in the street!!
Once we got home from town, it was time to start celebrating St. Patrick's Day in the way we have become accustomed too here in Arizona.  Marilyn got the Irish music out, we cracked a few cold ones and waited for the corned beef and cabbage to be done!!  It was a delicious meal and an awesome time spent with some really wonderful folks!!  We are soooo very blessed.
All in all, it was another awesome week.  Really, how can we keep having all these awesome weeks?
Life is Good!!
