Sunday, April 1/2018 - Saturday, April 7/2018

April Fool's Day and Kay's birthday started off April.  There were no jokes played around here and we had a great Sunday.  Kay wanted enchilada for supper so I popped that into the slow cooker in the morning then made a pumpkin pie (from real pumpkin, not canned) and a strawberry rhubarb pie as well.   That is Kay's favorite.
Lorne and Marilyn have decided that it is probably time for them to be heading back to Canada and have decided that Tuesday would be the day.  That left us Monday to do something special so we loaded up the cooler and headed for a quad ride out into the desert behind the house.  Lorne and Marilyn had yet to be out there so it was new trails for them.  John and Booko rode in Kermit.  Lorne and Marilyn took Henrietta and Kay and I took the jeep.  We took them over to see "Dwayne Johnson" aka "the rock" and had to send Kimmy a picture of that just to make her jealous.  We asked her if she knew where we were and it wasn't too long before we got her answer...."Dwayne", she said!!   LOL  We then did a little loop, stopped a few times along the way and were blessed by one of the most picturesque sunset of the season.  We took a ton of pictures and of course, made more memories.
On Tuesday, Lorne and Marilyn headed for home and we headed to the trailer to see if the trailer was full and ready to be unloaded.   It wasn't ready but we did manage to bring a bit more stuff back. Every little bit helps and soon, there will be nothing left to clean up.
Wednesday saw us bringing home the first load of the mancave.  A nasty job but it has to be done.  John has decided that we will reconstruct it here in Congress since we were unable to find anyone who wanted to buy it.  That is going to be a big job but at least we won't have to buy any more building for here.
Thursday, Kay signed the papers for the purchase of the land right beside the house.  We are all thrilled and have lots of plans for that 1.27 acres.  It is ideal horse property and Lord only knows, there are tons of horses and horse people looking to rent land!!  That of course is for when we return in the Fall.
The rest of the week was spent hauling the man cave to Congress.  Dan finally got it down and was thrilled when we paid him more than he asked for.   He had grossly underestimated the job so we thought we would give him a couple hundred more.
It  has been another busy week but we are finally down to our last week here.  I have slowly been getting the trailer packed and our "to do" list is slowly being checked off.  I'm sure we will be ready when the time comes.     Life is Good!!
