Heading out on another tour

Today, we headed to Morrisey Creek for a wiener roast.  John had loaded the side by side on the truck in the hopes that we might go for a bit of a scoot in British Columbia and today was the day he decided to get it off the truck and follow us in the tracker.  Cooper of course would be riding "shotgun" with him.

It was a nice short day trip and the creek was really quite nice.  There were all kinds of trout swimming around the pools of the creek hiding in the shadows.  This creek flows into the Elk River so all these fish will eventually make their way into the faster waters of the Elk River and grow to be much bigger.  The Elk River is a catch and release river,  Lorne says this is because there is such a large number of fishermen on the river that if it was not catch and release, there would soon be no fish in the water.  Gentry, who is Athabascan Indian is able to fish the river and actually keep what he catches!!

We headed back towards home after the wiener roast as we have invited the "kids" over for steak supper at the end of the airstrip.  Lorne and Marilyn have a small cabin at the end of the airstrip complete with a fire ring and chairs so, we are going to move the trailer down there when we get home and prepare for the kids to arrive.

We got the quad back on the truck and were soon sitting at the end of the airstrip enjoying the quiet calm of the river and the cabin.  What an incredible little spot.  The kids arrived and we all had a good time catching up on their ever changing busy lives.  Miss Lily is as rambuctious as ever and Miss Scarlet has certainly grown.  Man, those two girls sure look alike.  Brodie has grown and still has the most fantastic head of curly hair!!

All too soon, the evening was over and the kids had to return home.  All good things must end and our trip was soon coming to an end as well.  Tomorrow, we are headed for home but I must say, this trip was one of our best ideas yet!!  My hips feel better and even they are thanking us for the time off!!  Life is Good!!
