March 2019

Lorne and Marilyn arrived back in Arizona a few days into March and was able to finally meet Jace and Kimmy and get to spend a few days with them before they headed home.   One of the best times we had together was when we hit Gilligans for a few drinks and ended up spending the whole evening there. We spent a ton of money and made a ton of memories!!

Canada and knows how to make an actual caesar!!

Once the kids departed we kind of got back into our usual routine.  Lorne and Marilyn would take off on their daily road trip, John and I would muck around the house and Kay went back to her job.  There were a few building projects that had to be finished off and I was busy cleaning and cooking.
The weather for the most part was pretty cooperative with rain gracing us occasionally.
We saved our trips we took together for the weekends so that Kay could join us and of course we had to make our annual trek to Box Canyon for the Weiner roast.  Morilyn loves her Weiner roasts and we have made the Box Canyon an annual thing and we have been know to do it more than once!!  We truly are rebels!!
Of course this year we were unable to get to the box for our weiner roast so had to settle for having it on the sand beside the rud=shing waters on the Hassayamppa.

John's St. Patricks Day shirt.
We always celebrate St. Patrick's Day and this year was no different.  of course corned beef and cabbage an=re the staples and this year's meal was as good as ever.  We all pigged out, drank beer and listened to Marilyn"s Irish music.  Fun was had by all...of course!!

Antelope Creek

Marie at Antelope Creek
We made a few trips over to Antelope Creek for afternoon beers beside the water.  It is a nice jaunt down the back roads behind Yarnell to the creek and then it pops you out at Stanton.  It is a nice, easy loop and even better when the sun is shining and we get to have "creek" beers.  It one of "go to" spots to just get away and relax for a few hours.

We took several trips out into the desert with the side by sides and Lorne and Marilyn tracker making memories.  Like I said before, we often waited for Kay to come home on the weekend for these adventures.  On one particular trip we had taken the jeep so Kay was in the back.  We all heard this weird noise that sounds like a hiss and I thought we had somehow blown a hole in the tire.  All of a sudden, Kay tells John to back up, she thinks she sees a snake!!  Of course he does and there, right off the trail is one pissed off rattlesnake.  Apparently it was his hissing that we had heard.  Of course Kay always carries her pistol when we go on these trails cause "one never knows" what you might encounter.   Well, today, it was that damn snake.  Out comes the gun and boom....It took a few shots but the thing was finally caught and put into a plastic bag for skinning later on!!   It is always an adventure when you hang with our crowd!!
March 31st rolled around and it was Lorne and Marilyn's last day with us.  We celebrated with a trip the the Arrowhead bar for drinks and supper.  It was fun but sad as it was the end of their stay with us.   March.....lots of memories.    Life is Good
