Sunday, March 20/2015 - Saturday, March 26/2016

Sunday found us sitting at a major league baseball game in Phoenix.  Spring Training is well under way and we thought we would take advantage of the opportunity of seeing an MLB game.  The game was between the LA Dodgers and and San Diego Padres and unfortunately for many fans, the Dodgers got their asses handed to them!!  It was 90 degrees out and even I got a bit of a burn on my one shoulder.  All in all though, it was an awesome experience.  Not one that probably needs to be repeated unless we get tickets for the "patio" where chairs and umbrellas are provided.  The shade would be more than welcome and the beer bar is stationed right on the patio!!
We stayed until the end of the seventh inning where the score was 12 -5 for the Padres and remained that way till the end of the game.
We stopped at the Trackside Bar for beer and food before heading home and I must say, the sunshine and extreme heat of the day kicked the guts out of all of us so it was off to bed early for all.  Oh, by the way..... a beer was $8.00 at the park and a big Twisted Tea was $12.00!!  Tell me they aren't making money!!  LOL

Sitting on the lawn

Geoff, one of the many security guys
While at the game, I received a message from a couple from Leoville.  They are in Wickenburg for a few days and decided to touch base and maybe get together for a visit.  More fun to be had!!

Riding with Ed and Sue
We got together and did the Wickenburg Mountain Loop.  It was a beautiful day for a ride and we all enjoyed the wonderful scenery the desert has to offer.  Spring is in the air and a few of the desert flowers were out.
heading down the wash

Ed and Sue and Kay and Marie
It was a five hour trip and we even got home in the daylight!!  That in itself was awesome!!
girls skinning snakes
The rest of the week was busy again with the park demolition continuing and us having to finally get to skinning the 14 rattlesnakes that Ray and Mundo had gathered for us over the past summer. Incredibly, the skinning went well and the snakes were in their jars "tanning" before too long.   The cats wondered what that funny smell was though and were busy sniffling around the table while we worked!!
Let the tanning process begin

Our little pigs

Another ride with Ed and Sue
We managed to get another ride in with Ed and Sue before they had to leave.  This ride took us up Constellation Road and into the mountains where we passed by some old mining sites and eventually hit a dead end at the Hassayampa River.
Checking out some mines in the Bradshaw Mountains
This was the Monte Cristo mine where a swarm of huge
bees now call home!!

Spring is in the air - this hedgehog grew into a huge globe

Yucca in bloom
The assayer's cabin - now on private property but we walked
in anyway and took a few pictures

Ed, the explorer!!

One cannot do the Constellation Road and not stop at the ole stage coach stop of Sayer's Springs.
A lot of history here but now it serves as a place for the animals and cattle to water.

Always something new to find.  Kay and I took a
small trail and came to "Rick".   Nice peaceful spot just above Sayers Spring.

Hotter than hell out!!
More basseball pictures

The Bullpen
All in all, it was another busy week.  The park demo continues with Vinny bringing in his heavy equipment,  Ed and Sue headed for home and Ray is still in Mexico.  It is also time for John and I to think about the packing up of the trailer as it will soon be time for us to head home as well.

Take Me Out To The Ball Game!!
