Riding at Camp Verde trails

A few minor shelf trails
Riding the Copper Canyon Trail was actually pretty cool.  It virtually followed the interstate but the scenic rating had to be a 10!!   It was an easy trail but rocky in a few places.  It followed copper creek and that too was a bonus.   Huge trees lined the creek and with that came the spring flowers.  Even the birds wher chirping happily.  It was a great day for a ride.

Miles of desert

Trees lining the creek and along the trail
spring flowers
looks like wild phlox
A mass of pretty purple flowers proving ground
cover in this particular area.   It was incredible!!
A Century plant.  This huge stem will eventuall bloom and then
the whole plant will die.   A new one will grow from the bottom.

The ground was covered with these little beauties
in this one spot by the creek.

Life is good!!
We travelled the trails for a few hours and eventually returned to camp.  The cats had remained out all day and found a "secret" hiding spot while we were gone.  The top of the gas tank was to be their "go to" spot for the rest of the trip.  They chased lizards and bugs and all in all, had a good time.  There was so much for them to check out.  They too, were getting a bit more friendly towards John and I as well so that was a good thing.  They made it clear throughout the winter that they were Kay's cats and chose only a few times to grant John and I some pats or a quick rub around the legs!! More places to see!!
