Rock crawling event

The weather has turned quite warm.  Too warm for February and it is time for us to be thinking about putting in the air conditioners.
I have come into John's cold and for that I thank him very much.  Fortunately, I do not have all the aches and pains that he had - just a stuffed nose so hopefully it will not last too long.
The clean up in the park continues and Kay and I are like busy little worker bees.  The owner is quite happy with the progress so that is always a good thing.
Kay and I went down and bought a red metal bench and two small matching tables to put somewhere in the park for us to sit on.  It is quite a cute little set and will look nice nestled under the mulberry tree or perhaps the big pine tree just down the block!!
This week, we headed into Skyharbour Airport to pick up Lorne and Marilyn.   Going in was not too bad but by the time they landed and got out of the airport, we were in the middle of rush hour (or should I say rush 2 hour!!).  We were minding our own business and the fellow behind us was not paying attention and rear ended us!!  Wham...... all our necks took a bit of a jolt!!  Fortunately, there was no damage to Lorne's truck and a cop was right on scene.  It wasn't long before we were back into the traffic and carrying on to Wickenburg.
Once we hit the 303 Loop, the traffic thinned out and the sailing was smooth and quick.  We stopped at one of the local roping venues (they have a bar and restaurant) and had a few beers and ate supper.  It was delicious!!
Lorne and Marilyn were tired from their rather full day and headed to their condo and John got a fire started so we could sit around it and have one more beer!!
On Saturday, Kay and I ventured into Surprise to do all our necessary shopping.  We did good too and were back here in Wickenburg in time for happy hour.
John had just arrived home as well as he had our recently purchased "new to you" vehicle out for a spin to make sure everything worked.  Apparently all is well and for $800.00 dolllars, we now are the owners of a 2004 little chev Blazer.
Sunday found us at the World Extreme Rock Crawling Event up near Congress.  Man, I thought it might be boring but was I ever wrong.  I enjoyed every minute of it.  Man, can those machines crawl.  It certainly was an eye opener.  There were a few roll overs that resulted in some dented metal but no injuries so that is a very good thing.  It was an awesome day and all of us worked on our suntans while enjoying the entertainment!!
We took the "back way" home past Stanton Ghost Town and past Box Canyon.  We dropped down into the wash and ended up back in Wickenburg without incident.  It was a full day and a very busy week.    Life is good!!
