Sunday, February 2/2014 - Saturday, February 8/2014

This week started off with the annual Superbowl Party hosted by Ray and Kay.  The garage is ready, the TV is set up and the chairs are set up.  The food has been cooked and everything is looking pretty awesome.  Let the game begin……
The Seattle Seahawks won the game!!  Woo Hoo.  I think the Denver Broncos forgot to show up!!  We snacked throughout the game.  The food was delicious and no one went away hungry.
The contractor showed up Monday to make the final preparations for the cement.  The post holes for the fence were dug and the cement is expected on Tuesday.

My javelina, coming for their carrots
The sunsets this week were incredible.  They change so quickly that one could take a hundred pictures and they would all be different.    Each day ends in incredible colour here in Arizona.

Awesome Sunsets

More settings - kind of cool

It is always nice to end the busy days with a nice fire.  Even Hogan enjoys these moments.  He loves his jacket and has found a nice place to curl up on his bench where he snoozes the evenings away.

John and Lee - trying to get the fence posts in
The cement truck arrived on Tuesday and it was great watching the guys deal with the spreading and smoothing of it.   They had the truck unloaded in no time.  That is when the actual smoothing came into play.   We pressed Hogan's paw prints into the cement and that actually turned out pretty darn good.

Getting ready to pour

Cement is finally in

Looking good!!

The fence posts - cemented and ready for  fence boards

The deck was the next project to be tackled this week and with the fence posts cemented in and now dry, they were ready for deck.  We had purchased the wood for the deck earlier so John, Kay and I got busy building it.  The local "inspector" (Marybeth) came down and gave the OK so we were good to go!!  Of course we ran out of wood so it looks like there will be another trip to Home Depot this week.
The new deck.   John,  Kay and Marybeth
Saturday found Kay and I at Home Depot.  We had a ton of building supplies to get - one being 276 fence boards.   Saturday was probably not the smartest day but we managed to get in and out fairly unscathed.
Once we got back to the park, it was time to unload and get busy finishing the deck and starting the fence.  The deck was finished and the stairs need to be built.  Perhaps on Sunday.
This week, the Olympics started and Kay and I sat for three hours watching the opening ceremonies.  John joined us about half way through.  They were pretty good and we hope that there are lots of gold medals in Canada's future.
It was a busy week and things are getting done.   All is good.
